The Benefits of Yoga

Discover some of the many benefits of practicing yoga by clicking on the boxes below…

Reduced Stress

Yoga is a mind-body practice that combines physical poses, controlled breathing and meditation which can help to reduce stress and tension.

Improved Breathing

Yoga helps you to breathe more effectively. As your body receives more oxygen, your lungs and therefore body organs and systems will function better.

Increased Core Strength

Looking to tone and build your core strength and increase your flexibility?  Yoga is perfect for you.

It Restores Your Body

Remember that feeling of being totally relaxed before you had a busy and demaning life? Heal the mind and spirit with yoga to restore balance to your body’s systems.

Improved Co-ordination

Co-ordination is essential to be able to perform daily tasks. Yoga can help you to become better co-ordinated and improve your balance and flexibility.

Improved Wellbeing

Yoga is an exercise for body, mind and soul, helping you get a healthy mind and body and improve all spheres of your life.

I felt 6 inches taller at the end of the class & the feeling lasted for several days!

I haven’t slept as well as I have since starting yoga.

It’s very relaxing & revitalising.

We’re Highly Experienced

Deborah has practised yoga for over 30 years, starting in 1981 as a student at St Andrews University.  She started yoga as a method of keeping fit and preventing herself from having back problems, which her father had lived with all of her life.

Once she started doing yoga, she found the benefits so profound that she never stopped. She trained to teach yoga in 1996, having already qualified as Primary School teacher in 1989.

Deborah’s interests in yoga are in pranayama and meditation as well as yoga as therapy.

Deborah has been studying under Yoga Therapist and medical Doctor, Dr Shrikrishna (www.shrikrishna.de) in Berlin, since 2010, working specifically on Pranayama & Meditation on 2 courses of 3 years continuous learning. She continues to study with Dr Shrikrishna today.
